We still have a solid 3.5 weeks left in 2022, but year end lists keep popping up. Yesterday TikTok released their list of “The Hitmakers: Most-Viewed Artist in the US for 2022,” and congratulations to Lizzo for taking the top spot. Credit for that goes to the choreography for “About Damn Time,” which became a viral sensation. The rest of the top five Most-Viewed artists are Bella Poarch, followed by Bad Bunny, Charlie Puth and Doja Cat.

Select critics in the US and the UK got an early screening of “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which hits theaters on Dec. 16. While full film reviews are embargoed until Dec. 13, critics are raving about the stunning visual effects. Uproxx’s Mike Ryan tweeted, “Trying to spare hyperbole, but I’ve never seen anything like this from a technical, visual standpoint. It’s overwhelming. Maybe too overwhelming. Sometimes I’d miss plot points because I’m staring at a Pandora fish.” Others echo those same sentiments, but the more pragmatic ones are reminding all of us to go the bathroom beforehand and avoid super-sized drinks at the concession stand. “Avatar: Way of the Water” clocks in at 3 hours 12 minutes, 29 minutes longer than the original.

Some controversy has been kicked up behind the scenes of “Wednesday,” which in just 12 days has become Netflix’s fifth most-watched show in any language and the third most-watched show in English. However, Netflix and the star of their show Jenna Ortega are catching some heat for what Jenna revealed in a recent interview. You know that dance scene that’s become a viral sensation? Jenna said filming that scene was especially difficult because it was her first day with COVID. Jenna said she woke up feeling achy all over, describing the symptoms, “I felt like I’d been hit by a car and that a little goblin had been let loose in my throat and was scratching the walls of my esophagus…They were giving me medicine between takes because we were waiting on the positive result.” Once her test came back positive, they shut the production down. But what about all the strict COVID protocols being enforced on set in Hollywood? People online say it was irresponsible for Jenna to film AT ALL until the results from her COVID test came back. Instead, Netflix allowed tons of cast and crew to be exposed.

It’s been just over a year since Britney Spears was released from the constraints of her conservatorship. But her Instagram posts are becoming more and more erratic and fans who were so pro #FreeBritney are starting to wonder if this was the right move. Others believe there’s a concerted effort going on behind the scenes to make Britney look crazy so the courts have to intervene. I’d tell you to go look at some of her most recent posts, but Britney’s IG has been deactivated again. Even though her husband Sam Asghari says Britney is behind all her social media posts, many believe he’s part of the scheme. In fact, an IG account I recently discovered thanks to one of my IG followers — @AdvocateForBritney — insists that Britney is not in charge of her IG. They believe Lou Taylor is responsible for these posts. Lou is Britney’s former business manager and she’s really tight with Britney’s parents. She’s the one who reportedly put the idea of getting Britney committed and then put into a conservatorship their heads. One example @AdvocateForBritney uses as evidence that Lou has something to do with Britney’s IG is the very sweet message she posted on her birthday to her baby sister, Jamie Lynn — “It’s my b-day but you’re my heart so I’m thinking about you … congratulations on being so brave, inspiring, and showing guts and glory in your show !!! You ain’t alone … if anybody knows what that feels like … I get it. My baby sister !!! I love you !!!” Was Britney showing some love to her sister by promoting her upcoming appearance on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test”? Or was it Lou Taylor promoting her client, Jamie Lynn Spears? And about the deactivation, @AdvocateForBritney said this is a pattern, posting, “Surprise! The IG, predictably, has deactivated yet again, 48 hours before the next hearing…Expect the pattern of some Twitter shock/drivel later. It’s 5 Dec, there’s a hearing on the 7th.” That’s today!
