Weekend box office news… “American Idol” winner… Future & Ciara’s son turned 5… Scarlett Johansson & Colin Jost are engaged… and Game of Thrones’ series finale includes a glimpse of plastic water bottle

It’s the end of their reign! After 3 weeks on top, it was “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” that dethroned “Avengers: Endgame” at the box office. John Wick earned $57 million in its debut weekend. “Endgame” finished in second with $29 million. “Detective Pikachu” earned another $24.8 million in its second week for a third place finish. The new movie “A Dog’s Journey” was fourth with $8 million, followed by “The Hustle” in fifth with $6.1 million.

SPOILER ALERT!! The winner of “American Idol” has been crowned. Last year, Laine Hardy was sent home during final judgment week of Hollywood Week. This year, he showed up to play guitar for his friend who was auditioning, but the judges begged him to give the competition another try and Laine reluctantly took his golden ticket. Well, look who went and won the whole darned thing! Swooning teenage girls voted their little hearts out and made Laine our new American Idol. Alejandro Aranda was second, but if he was your favorite, you should be THRILLED for him! He’s free from the chains that come with winning “American Idol” and will undoubtedly have a sweet record come from this.

When a couple gets divorced, there’s often a competition over who gives the better parties and who gives the better presents. Future and Ciara were never married, but they share a son — Baby Future — and he just turned 5. Daddy gave him a Rolex. He even posted the video of his son’s reaction to his extravagant gift. He basically said, “Thanks” with about as much enthusiasm as you would expect from a kid who only wanted a Nerf gun…..But Ciara and Russell Wilson threw Baby Future the party of any 5-year-old boy’s dreams. There was laser tag and go-carts and an Avengers birthday cake. That kid looked like he was about to BUST, he was so excited. So who won here?

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are engaged. Back in May 2017, Scarlett was in the middle of divorce number two when she appeared on “Saturday Night Live.” She and Colin were seen kissing at the after party, but what might have been a rebound makeup session blossomed into true love! This will be Colin’s first marriage. Scarlett was previously married to Ryan Reynolds and Romain Dauriac. She and Romain share a 4-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy.

It’s over. After eight seasons, “Game of Thrones” came to an end and fans are having severe reactions on social media. If it makes you feel any better, Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington were just as gutted when they read the script. And people who are just looking for something to be mad about noticed a water bottle stuck behind the leg of a chair. But good news for die-hard GOT fans! HBO is releasing the documentary about the making of the final season this Sunday night. And even MORE good news for those upset without the series played out, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will have nothing to do with the prequel, “The Long Night.”
