Weekend box office news… Steve-O was arrested… What’s in store for the “Real Housewives of Atlanta”?… Scooter Braun’s fundraiser forHillary Clinton… and Is Nicki Minaj pregnant with Meek Mill’s baby?
“Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” was number one for the second week, earning another $29.4 million. And bad reviews and critical tweets from the director himself didn’t help “Fantastic Four” at the box office. It debuted in second with a disappointing $26.2 million. But on the flip side, “The Gift” debuted with a better-than-expected $12 million for a third place finish. Not bad for a movie that cost only $5 million to make!
The weekend’s other two debuts were “Ricki and the Flash” and “Shaun the Sheep.” Neither cracked the top five. “Ricki” earned $7 million for seventh place and despite raving reviews, kids must not love Claymation. Shaun only earned $4 million, debuting all the way down in eleventh place.
Steve-O was arrested last night for climbing a crane on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood to protest Seaworld’s treatment of killer whales. When he reached the top of the 100-foot crane, Steve-O inflated a huge killer whale balloon with the words “Seaworld Sucks” on it and lit off some fireworks. Once he climbed down, he was arrested. Will he have to pay for all the emergency responders who showed up? The AP says because first responders weren’t sure whether he needed to be rescued, five ambulances, a helicopter and more than 80 firefighters were sent to the scene. Isn’t that a bit much?
With NeNe Leakes out, who’s going to bring some heat to “Real Housewives of Atlanta” this season? Bravo is hoping we’ll get excited to see Sheree Whitfield again. She reportedly finalized her contract to come back. And reportedly that awful Marlo Hampton will be making occasional appearances, too. But Claudia Jordan didn’t click and she’s out after one season.
Scooter Braun hosted a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton. That’s where Kim and Kanye took a selfie with her that you may have already seen. Among the 250 or so guests who paid about $2700 each to meet Mrs. Clinton were Kris Jenner, Jessica Alba, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, and Usher. But notably missing from the guest list were two of Scooter’s biggest clients — Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. The reasons should be obvious. Even though he has since apologized, remember when Justin was caught on video peeing in a mop bucket while saying “F*#! Bill Clinton!” And remember how Ariana Grande licked a donut and said, “I hate America.” Yeah. There’s that.

During her concert in Pennsylvania Saturday night, Nicki Minaj introduced her boyfriend Meek Mill by saying, “Make some noise for my baby father.” Hmmmm…..So should we start looking for a baby bump? They do have a history of messing with us. Nicki and Meek started dating back in December and in April he gave her that huge yellow diamond that had everybody believing they were engaged. But the next month, Meek shot that rumor down. Every media and gossip outlet is reaching out to the couple about the baby news but so far, no comment.
