Will “Friday Night Lights” be coming back?… Tyga is being sued again… Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper lead in a major movie… Taylor Swift’s BIG donation… and Johnny Depp and Amber Heard settle divorce
People who loved “Friday Night Lights” REALLY loved “Friday Night Lights.” And now it looks like the object of all that affection may finally be coming back to television. E! News confirmed that CMT ordered a script from the writer of “Varsity Blues,” which is the movie that inspired the TV series. It’s in the early EARLY stages of development but it looks real promising at this point.
I’m embarrassed for Kylie Jenner at this point. Tyga is being sued again. This time, Jason of Beverly Hills is suing him for not paying a judgment of over $200K they were awarded back in early 2014 for a watch he ordered and a chain he borrowed and never returned. Tyga still hasn’t paid and because of late fees, Jason says he’s now owed more than $270K in damages. He hired the same guy who represented the landlord Tyga stiffed on a $480K lawsuit.
It’s official! They are remaking “A Star Is Born” with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper!! In fact, Bradley is directing the movie — which is a first for him. And this is Gaga’s first time taking the lead role in a major movie. Not only that, she will write and perform new music for the movie, so there are umpteen opportunities for her to win an Oscar with this one.
Taylor Swift is donating $1 million to Louisiana flood relief. The massive flooding is some of the worst in Louisiana history. So far, the flooding has claimed at least 11 lives and damaged at least 40K homes. More than 60K have registered for disaster aid from FEMA. Taylor released a statement yesterday saying, “We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking. I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard reached an agreement in their divorce yesterday, the day before they were to face off in court over her domestic violence claims. A source told Entertainment Tonight that it was actually the leaked photo of Johnny’s severed finger and the scrawled messages in blood and paint on a mirror that led to the decision to settle this thing quickly. According to TMZ, Johnny agreed to pay Amber $7 million to settle the case, which includes her attorneys’ fees. But the Daily Mail says the two of them actually agreed to the dollar amount over the weekend. What Amber reportedly wanted was a joint statement in which Johnny admitted he committed domestic violence. He absolutely refused to do that. So what we got instead was a joint statement saying that “neither party has made false accusations for financial gains” and that their “relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love.”
