Celebrities live in LA and that’s why this is in the Showbiz Top 5. LA City Council voted yesterday to license sales and cultivation of marijuana next year. What that means is, if the mayor signs off on this like he’s expected to do, as of January 1, 2018, Los Angeles will become the largest city in the country to allow legal recreational marijuana use. They’ll tinker with it a little bit and make some revisions next year, but it looks like residential neighborhoods will be largely off-limits to pot businesses and buffer zones will be set up around schools, libraries and parks.

YouTube is out with their Top Ten Trending Music Videos of 2017, but I’ll give you the top three. Coming in first is Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee and “Despacito.” That video has been watched 4.4 billion times, making it the most viewed video of all time. Second place for 2017 goes to Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” video with 2.8 billion views. And third is J Balvin and Willy William’s “Mi Gente” with almost 1.4 billion. As far as the Top Trending Videos of 2017, the top spot belongs to this guy singing in a talent competition in Thailand while dressed as a super fancy oyster. “Until we will become dust – Oyster Mask | THE MASK SINGER 2” has been seen over 183.5 million times. The second most viewed video is “ED SHEERAN – Shape Of You | Kyle Hanagami Choreography.” It’s gotten almost 120 million views. And third is “Ping Pong Trick Shots 3 | Dude Perfect” with over 94 million views.

Back in the day, we used to do a TV show called “Dish Nation,” which continues without us but continues with Da Brat. She’s making the news now because she owes a ton of money to this former NFL cheerleader she attacked in a nightclub back in 2007. Da Brat hit Shayla Stevens in the face with a bottle, which Shayla claims caused her permanent facial scarring, mental pain, and neurological damage. While Brat was serving three years for the incident, Shayla sued her and won $6.4 million. As of today, Brat’s never paid Shayla a single penny. So now she’s registered the judgment in California, where she can go after Brat’s assets and property there. With interest on the judgment, Brat now owes her over $7.8 million.

The former DJ ordered to pay a symbolic $1 award to Taylor Swift for grabbing her bottom during a meet-and-greet says he paid her last week with a Sacagawea coin. David Mueller said that was also symbolic. David told the Associated Press, “I mean, if this is all about women’s rights….It’s a little poke at them…I mean, I think they made this into a publicity stunt and this is my life.”

It looks like Ben Affleck isn’t the least bit interested in continuing as Batman, so the part may be up for grabs. Star magazine says Jon Hamm is gunning hard for it. Their source says that quite frankly, Jon thinks he’d be better suited for the job. But it’s nothing personal. Jon and Ben are actually friendly with each other since co-starring in Ben’s 2010 movie, “The Town.” But friend or not, Jon wants that Batmobile. And the source says, “He doesn’t care whose toes he has to tread on to get there.”
