Jussie Smollett Will Not Return To “Empire”

Jeopardy! is upset… The next Harry Styles… The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion show… Tracy Morgan’s accident… and Jussie Smollett will not return to “Empire”

If you think YOU were upset that James Holzhauer’s loss on “Jeopardy!” was spoiled, imagine how the people who work on the show feel! The executive producer says they are all super disappointed that someone leaked footage of the episode on Sunday, the day before it was set to air, and they will take “very, very, very appropriate” action against the person responsible. Harry Friedman told the Washington Post that they think they know who did it, but he can’t say for sure just yet. Harry said he feels bad for the viewers and that it’s simply not fair. He said, “I’m not sure what’s gained by doing something like that, other than some malicious intent. It doesn’t really benefit anybody.” But James’ winning streak did help Jeopardy’s ratings! The audience grew each week he was on, hitting a 14-year high in the ratings.

If Simon says this guy could be the next Harry Styles, why didn’t he use his golden buzzer? Last night on America’s Got Talent, 14-year-old Benicio Bryant — who goes by Benny — performed “The Joke” by Brandi Carlisle. He got a standing ovation from the audience and Simon said he was having a serious case of déjà vu. Back in 2010 Simon was judging the “X Factor UK” when Harry auditioned and got through. But later, when he was eliminated from the competition, Simon brought Harry and four other guys back to compete as One Direction, and the rest is history. No golden buzzer for Benny, but he made it through the first round. It was actually Howie Mandel who used his golden buzzer on 21-year-old Joseph Allen from Killeen, Texas. He’s a songwriter and took a risk by performing an original song, which was part-soul, part-rap, and something he wrote specifically for his audition.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion show is filming today, but the question on everyone’s mind is, Will Lisa Vanderpump show up for it? She told DailyMailTV that “in all probability, no.” Does that mean there’s still a chance? Lisa explained, “The objective of the reunion is to reunite, right? And I have no inclination to reunite with the women who’ve been harassing me for 10 months now.” A source close to production told Us Weekly that Lisa is simply too afraid to face the other Housewives because she doesn’t want to be called out and have her image damaged. The source says, “An innocent person shows up and stands their ground.” Of course, they’re all referring to puppy gate, and if you watch the show, I don’t need to go into detail here, but Lisa hasn’t talked to anybody on the show since the fallout and she claims Bravo cut her from her remaining scenes this season. So as far as coming back for season 10, Lisa said, “I think they’ve made it pretty impossible for me to go back frankly, so … no.”

Tracy Morgan had just driven off the Manhattan Motorcars lot in his new $2 million 2012 Bugatti Veyron. He made it half a mile down the road when he was side-swiped by a woman driving a Honda CR-V minivan as they were both trying to make a right. There’s bystander video of Tracy throwing a huge fit, pounding on the woman’s passenger side window, yelling at her, “B****, get out of the car!” She did NOT get out of the car. She told Page Six that she was scared. She also said she didn’t have any idea who Tracy was and asked the traffic officer why everybody kept taking his picture. That’s when she said a bus full of tourists drove by and the tour guide said, “Oh! That’s Tracy Morgan!”

Variety posted a story that the writers on “Empire” were busy working on a storyline for Jussie Smollett to return for the second half of the show’s final season. Jussie was suspended for the final two episodes last season because of his arrest for faking a racist attack. When the charges were dropped, many of the cast members wrote a letter asking that Jussie be brought back to the show. Back in April, “Empire” co-creator Lee Daniels said it was a conversation they were still having. But now? It’s ain’t happening. In response to Variety’s post, Lee tweeted, “Jussie will NOT be returning to Empire.”
