A new version of Willy Wonka is in the works. It’s rumored to be a prequel that will explain how Willy got started in the candy business and how he met the Oompa Loompas. These are questions I didn’t even know I had but now I need to know! Sources say they have a shortlist of actors being considered on the role, and those names include Ryan Gosling, Ezra Miller, and Donald Glover.

The CMT Music Awards were held last night, but if you were distracted by basketball, here’s what you missed! Little Big Town hosted. Kelly Clarkson killed it with her performance of “American Woman.” And the Backstreet Boys looked super cute! They even won the award for CMT Performance of the Year for “Everybody,” which they performed on CMT’s Crossroads with Florida Georgia Line. Speaking of FGL, they along with Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean went into the ceremony with the most nominations — 4 each. This awards show is all about music videos and winners were selected by fans who voted on CMT.com. Blake Shelton won Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year for “I’ll Name the Dogs.” Carrie Underwood won Female Video of the Year for “The Champion,” which also featured Ludacris. Duo Video of the Year went to Dan + Shay for “Tequila.” Group Video Winner was Little Big Town for “When Someone Stops Loving You.”

Jake Paul and his Team 10 crew hit up the Carowinds theme park in North Carolina Monday and OF COURSE they got into trouble. Jake rented a motorized scooter which is meant for disabled guests because he refused to walk through “the whole damn park.” They just went crazy nuts with that thing. There’s video of them racing, piling way too many people on board and trying to do flips. They also came dangerously close to running over a few people. Finally security caught up with them. Carowinds told The Blast, “We do not condone Jake Paul’s behavior, and after park security insisted that he follow the safety rules he decided to leave the property.” Jake’s rep says they didn’t leave because of the security talk, but because he was being overwhelmed by his fans. And Jake’s team says they didn’t do anything wrong and it was Carowinds who gave him the scooter in the first place.

Kim Kardashian was willing to do whatever it took to see Alice Marie Johnson freed. Back in 1996, Ms. Johnson was sentenced to life in prison on drug conspiracy and money laundering charges. She said she became involved with cocaine dealers after she lost her job, her son was killed, she and her husband divorced, and her home fell into foreclosure. It was her first offense. Kim heard her story and felt the sentence was entirely too harsh. So she took it all the way to the president, who decided that after 22 years, Alice Marie Johnson would be freed. Kim was the one who got to call her and give her the news, and now she and her team are working to arrange a meeting with Ms. Johnson, hopefully within the week. And Kim says Alice is just the first of many unfairly sentenced people she hopes to see freed.
