RHWONJ stars Joe and Teresa Giudice plead guilty… Bad blood between Nick Gordon and Whitney Houston’s family… John Travolta’s says “Let it go”… Taylor Swift files a restraining order… and Michael Fassbender and Lupita Nyong’o are becoming a thing
Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Joe and Teresa Giudice have pleaded guilty to bankruptcy fraud, mail fraud and other charges. Teresa is facing 27 months in prison, but she’s hoping she’ll be placed under house arrest. Joe could get 46 months and faces deportation back to Italy. The fact that Teresa has four young daughters and is the primary breadwinner for the family will work in her favor. She released a statement yesterday that said, in part: “Today, I took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago…. I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family—especially my four young daughters, who mean more to me than anything in the world.” And yes, Bravo cameras are rolling, capturing as much of the drama as they are legally allowed. Prosecutors accuse the Giudices of turning in fake W-2s, tax returns and bank account information to lenders. They also claim the Giuudices received about $4.6 million in mortgages, withdrawals from home equity lines of credit and construction loans.
Bad blood runs deep between Whitney Houston’s family and Nick Gordon — the teenage boy Whitney took into her home and raised as her own son who ended up marrying Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina. And at a recent Sweet 16 for Whitney’s niece, Nick got his butt whooped by Whitney’s nephew, Gary Houston! The event was a black-tie affair, and Nick dared to show up in a hood and knit cap. Gary felt like Nick had insulted the Houston family so many times in the past, and this was just the final straw. After the party, sources say Gary kicked Nick’s behind to a pulp. It was so lopsided, Nick didn’t even get in a punch. And now they’re fighting it out on Twitter.
People are still laughing about John Travolta’s screwed up introduction of Idina Menzel at the Oscars. He FINALLY addressed the ‘Adele Dazeem” situation with a statement he released yesterday. “I’ve been beating myself up all day. Then I thought… what would Idina Menzel say, ‘She’d say, Let it go, let it go!’ Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy ‘Frozen’ took home two Oscars Sunday night!”
Taylor Swift has filed a restraining order against this creepy guy who she says has been harassing her for the past 3 years. TMZ says that 33-year-old Timothy Sweet believes he and Taylor are married, and he’s willing to kill whoever stands between him and his bride. In one message, he wrote, “Dearest Taylor, I’ll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage. Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State.” And then he posted on social media, “If anyone in Taylor Swift’s family gets killed, it is not my fault.” How is that okay???? A judge has ordered Sweet to stay at least 100 yards away from Taylor and her family, but that order expires on March 25.
According to The Sun, Michael Fassbender and Lupita Nyong’o are becoming a thing. Apparently these two had an incredible connection while filming “12 Years a Slave.” And then back in September when they were doing the rounds promoting the movie, they had a brief fling at the Toronto Film Festival. But their schedules kept them apart for a good while and now that awards season is behind them and things are slowing down a little bit, Michael reportedly wants to pick back up where they left off.
