Box office weekend news… Lil Xan goes to rehab… Kate Middleton & Meghan Markle’s relationship… Ariana Grande set a new record… and Nick Jonas & Priyanka Chopra are VERY married
“Ralph Breaks the Internet” was the number one movie for a second week, taking in another $25.8 million. That was followed by “The Grinch” with $17.7 million and then “Creed II” with $16.8 million. On a side note, while “Crazy Rich Asians” was a huge hit in the US, it was finally released in China this weekend and it BOMBED. Apparently, except for Michelle Yeoh, the stars of the movie are relatively unknown in China. And tickets sales were so poor, theaters started pulling the movie from some screens and replacing it with something else. In the end, “Crazy Rich Asians” earned only $1.2 million for an 8th place finish.

Lil Xan has finally gone to rehab. His girlfriend Annie posted on his Instagram account yesterday, “Diego was just admitted into his first treatment. He loves each and every one of you sending good wishes and prayers to him. We thank you all so very much for all of the love and support you are sending his way.” Xan intended to check in a couple weeks ago, but apparently the facility had a mix-up and some patients ended up staying longer than they were supposed to so he had to wait for a bed to become available.

I’d like to think Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are the best of friends, but the rumors that these two women don’t get along just keep getting louder and louder, especially with the news that Meghan and Prince Harry are moving out of Kensington Palace and into the Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle before their baby is born. Then The Sun printed a story on Saturday saying that Kate and Meghan had an “explosive row” before the Royal Wedding in May when Kate didn’t like the way Meghan spoke to her staff. She allegedly said, “That’s unacceptable. They’re my staff and I speak to them.” The Palace almost never comments on gossip, but things have been very different since Harry introduced an American into the mix. In response to that story, Kensington Palace issued a terse statement, “This never happened.”

Ariana Grande’s video for “Thank U, Next” has set the new record for the most views in its first 24 hours of release. BTS held the old record with 45.9 million views for “Idol.” Ariana broke that in just under 22 hours and now 50.3 million views is the number to beat. The video features scenes from some of Ariana’s favorite movies, “Mean Girls,” “Legally Blonde,” “13 Going on 30,” and “Bring It On.”

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are VERY married. They’ve had two wedding ceremonies — the first was a Christian ceremony on Saturday, which was officiated by Nick’s dad. The next day was a traditional Hindu ceremony with all the pageantry that went along with it. Experts have run the numbers and they estimate Nick and Priyanka dropped over half a million dollars on the wedding festivities. And the couple are so happy to share their love with all of us that they’re posting tons of pictures on their Instagram!
