Terry Crews joins “America’s Got Talent”… Katy Perry is taking a hit… Liam Hemsworth hospitalized… Chris Brown’s welfare check… and Nicki Minaj Pulls Out of BET Festival

If you’ve become a little bored with the way things are going with “America’s Got Talent,” maybe these changes will draw you back in. Tyra Banks is out. Terry Crews is in. Terry’s been a hit hosting the the show’s winter spinoff, “America’s Got Talent: the Champions,” which unbeknownst to him, was an audition for the full-time gig. And while Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel are back as judges, Heidi Klum and Mel B are not. Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union will fill those seats. No word yet on when the new season comes back with these fresh new faces.

You may have missed the story about Gucci getting slammed for their sweaters that you’re supposed to flip up over the lower half of your face and it’s basically blackface. Now Katy Perry is taking a hit for a new shoe in her Katy Perry Collections which also look like blackface. They’re slip on loafers that have cut-out faces on them — big blue eyes, a triangular nose and red lips. You can get them in beige….and black…and that’s the problem. Social media has been all over Katy, with one person commenting, “Ignorance is never a fashion statement.” Katy Perry and Global Brands Group released a statement saying that this shoe was actually part of a collection released last summer that came in NINE different colors — black, blue, gold, graphite, lead, nude, pink, red and silver. Katy said had envisioned the shoe as “a nod to modern art and surrealism” and was sad to find out the black version was being compared to blackface. She said, “Our intention was never to inflict any pain. We have immediately removed them from Katy Perry Collections.”

Over the weekend, Liam Hemsworth wasn’t there for the press interviews for his new movie “Isn’t It Romantic,” and his co-star Rebel Wilson said it was because he was in the hospital. That’s it! No further explanation. Then Liam missed out on going to the Grammys with his new wife Miley Cyrus, who ended up attending the red carpet premiere of Liam’s new movie all by herself. Now a source has let it slip what’s up with Liam. He’s suffering from kidney stones.

Chris Brown got a welfare check from police because at least one person — maybe way more than one person! — is afraid he’s lost his mind. It all started with a 21 Savage meme that Chris posted, which he thought was funny and Offset described as “lame.” Chris went off in all caps in his comments, challenging Offset to a fight. But then on Friday, Offset went on Chris’ Instagram and asked, “wya” — which means “where you at?” and Chris replied he was in LA and would be home at 4. Offset wrote, “addy” — for address — and Chris gave it to him! That’s when some people realized this had gone too far and someone called the police. TMZ is reporting that officers showed up at Chris’ home late Friday night and spoke with his security, who assured officers Chris was fine. Officers advised Chris’ team to remove the post with his address, and they did.

When Cardi B won her Grammy, BET tweeted the news, captioning it, “Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront.” Nicki did not find that funny one bit and tweeted, “Young Money will no longer be a part of the BET Experience or award show.” BET quickly apologized and said they didn’t approve that tweet and they’re going to get to the bottom of who did. But the damage seems to be done! Cardi B didn’t like it, either, saying she’s not a fan of one artist being brought down to build another up. She ended up shutting down her Instagram in disgust!
