He was very quiet about it, but Garry Shandling was a devout Buddhist. Even though he had no health problems and died suddenly from a massive heart attack, Garry had his funeral already planned. According to TMZ, Garry will achieve monk status and have his head shaved. He will then be laid to rest with a card that list the “Five Precepts of Buddha.” A monk will then lead a chant while the congregation lights incense, which is supposed to guide the spirit to the next life. Then, because Garry was Jewish, food will be served. Afterwards, his close friends will begin a period of mourning, which last 49 days for Buddhists.
Jay Z’s Tidal service just turned one this week, and Page Six is reporting that the streaming-music service will soon be offering original films to subscribers. Several of their sources confirmed that Tidal is in negotiations with movie-industry executives to create movies for Tidal using the artists signed to the streaming service. That means you could see a movie starring Lil Wayne, T.I., Kanye, Rihanna or Mr. Tidal himself, Jay Z. This could be up and running as early as June.
They are gearing up for the last American Idol EVER. People magazine revealed this morning that former contestant Jennifer Hudson will be back to perform on the series finale. She placed seventh on the show’s third season. Jennifer has to pre-record her performance because she’s currently starring in “The Color Purple” on Broadway. Other notable alumni appearing on the finale include the very first Idol, Kelly Clarkson — who also had to pre-record her appearance because she is heavily pregnant — Carrie Underwood, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Kellie Pickler, Chris Daughtry and Sanjaya, just to name a few! The two-part American Idol finale will air next Wednesday and Thursday.
In a video that went viral, Iggy Azalea’s fiancé Nick Young admits that he’d been with other women while his Lakers teammate D’Angelo Russell records him without his knowledge.
