Hugh Jackman treated for cancer… Derek Jeter and wife expecting… Nick Cannon quit… Ed Sheeran’s fake manager… and Rachel Lindsay named the next “Bachelorette”
For the FIFTH time since 2013, Hugh Jackman has been treated for cancer on his nose. He posted a picture of his bandaged schnoz on Instagram with the caption, “Another basal cell carcinoma. Thanks to the frequent checks & amazing doctors, all’s well. Looks worse w the dressing on then off! WEAR SUNSCREEN.” Since his first scare in 2013, Hugh says he goes in every three months for check-ups. Doctors have also removed skin cancer cells from his shoulder.
Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis were married in July of last year, and now Mr. and Mrs. Jeter are expecting their first baby! Hannah made the announcement on ThePlayersTribune.com, posting a picture of Derek holding a whole bunch of pink balloons. So, it’s a girl! Hannah says the baby is due in May and that Derek already has set his mind on a name, but she adds, “We’ll see.” Hannah is featured in the current Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. When you’re looking at her all sexy in that bikini, keep in mind that she was pregnant when that picture was taken.
Nick Cannon told NBC, You can’t fire me! I quit!! Nick announced on Facebook that he will no longer host “America’s Got Talent” after he says NBC threatened to fire him over some joke he made about losing his black card during his Showtime stand-up special. He says his “team” told him that NBC said he was in breach of contract for disparaging their brand, which would give them cause to fire him. But Nick said, “As a man, an artist, and a voice for my community I will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property.” But Page Six says that network insiders denied they threatened to fire Nick. In fact, they’ve been trying to contact him with no luck. But since Nick is under contract, quitting isn’t as simple as making a Facebook status update.
It was the old bait ’n switch routine. The CEO of The Giving Back Fund told TMZ that his charity got a phone call from a guy saying he was Ed Sheeran’s manager and that Ed really wanted to go to the Super Bowl. He said that in exchange for 4 tickets in a suite, Ed would sing 2 songs at their charity concert the night before the game. Sounded like a great deal to him! So the CEO sent over a contract. The manager showed up with a signed contract and the CEO handed him the four suite tickets. Well, guess what? That wasn’t Ed’s manager. And Ed no-showed because he was on tour in Australia. And of course, the fake manager who forged Ed’s signature re-sold the tickets and was long gone. If the cops ever find him, he could be charged with a felony.
She’s still competing to win Nick Viall’s heart on “The Bachelor,” but it was announced last night that the next Bachelorette is going to be Rachel Lindsay! Yes, for the first time in Bachelor/Bachelorette history, we have an African-American sitting in the driver’s seat! Jimmy Kimmel got to make the big announcement last night, which means Rachel obviously didn’t get Nick’s final rose. But he tweeted his congratulations to Rachel, saying, “My heart is full of joy for you Rachel. Congrats!! You will be one hell of a Bachelorette!! Beauty & class.. you have it all!!” Rachel is excited, but reminds us all, “My journey of love isn’t any different just because my skin color is.”
