It’s not often you can point to the moment when an artist’s promising career goes up in smoke, but Ashlee Simpson just might say that it was October 23, 2004, the night of her infamous Saturday Night Live lip-synching debacle. She tried to recover, but we wouldn’t let her. Well, finally, eight years after she released her last album, Ashlee promises that she will give us new music in 2017. In fact, she told Us Weekly that she and her hubby Evan Ross are working on an album together.
It’s no secret that Hollywood isn’t jumping up and down with joy that Donald Trump is going to be the next President of the United States, and it’s being reported that Trump’s team is having trouble finding A-listers to perform at the inauguration. But Trump’s team is denying they’re having any trouble. In fact, they are very pleased to announced that Andrea Bocelli will perform at the inauguration ceremony on January 20. And singing the National Anthem will be Jackie Evancho, a 16-year-old opera singer you may remember came in second on “America’s Got Talent” when she was only 10.
We’ve known Prince Harry has been dating Meghan Markle for a few months now, but we’ve not seen them out in public together……until now! The Sun caught a picture of the couple on a date near London’s West End yesterday. They went to a play — “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” — and then walked around Piccadilly, checking out the Christmas lights. They tried to keep it real low-key, with only one royal police officer tagging along for protection.

Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui got popped at the airport in DC after a TSA worker found marijuana in her carry-on bag. Police were called and Lauren ended up being cited for possession and released, but not in time to catch her flight to Brazil. So the rest of the group had to perform without her at the Fun Pop Festival in Sao Paolo. It was fine. But Fifth Harmony’s fans unnecessarily got #FreeLauren trending on Twitter.
How do you lock down a Lochte? As we’ve learned, diamonds don’t mean it’s going to last forever, but a baby will keep him on the hook for at least 18 years! So congratulations to Ryan Lochte and his fiancee, former Playboy model Kayla Rae Reid, on the upcoming birth of their baby. Ryan posted a picture of him kissing Kayla’s still-flat belly underwater, captioning it, “My Christmas gift came early this year, can’t wait for next year! Best news I’ve ever received.” Ryan and Kayla reportedly started dating in March and became engaged in October.
