Steve Harvey Loses Talk Show Time Slot To Kelly Clarkson

Rosie O’Donnell considered for “The Talk”… James Lipton is tired… Garth Brooks cuts Michael Ketterer… Bill Cosby’s sentence… and Kelly Clarkson bumps Steve Harvey

Now that Julie Chen (Call Me) Moonves has left “The Talk” they have to decide whether or not to fill her seat. Is it really necessary? Do they need that extra voice? Rumor has it that Rosie O’Donnell is being considered for the spot. A source says that even though she’s polarizing, Rosie brings in viewers. This source says the decision will be made in November.

James Lipton began “Inside the Actors Studio” back in 1994. But next year, the show is moving from its home on Bravo over to Ovation TV, and they’ll be moving it without James Lipton. James is 92. James is tired. But rather than have one host take his place, they’ll now use rotating hosts. Will they keep the ten questions James made so famous?

1. What is your favorite word?

2. What is your least favorite word?

3. What turns you on (creatively, spiritually, or emotionally)?

4. What turns you off (creatively, spiritually, or emotionally)?

5. What is your favorite curse word?

6. What sound or noise do you love?

7. What sound or noise do you hate?

8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

9. What profession would you not like to pursue?

10. If heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

In case you were wondering if Garth Brooks’ invitation to “America’s Got Talent” finalist Michael Ketterer to sing with him at Notre Dame next month is still good, it most definitely is not. After getting into a heated argument with his wife led to an arrest on domestic violence charges, Garth got on the phone with Michael and said they “both” decided it was better that he not do the show. Garth said, “That family will figure it out and find it within themselves, and of course the good Lord, and figure it out. Michael Ketterer will not be at Notre Dame.”

Bill Cosby will find out today if he gets a prison sentence or house arrest. Bill could’ve faced up to 30 years — 10 years for each of the 3 counts of aggravated indecent assault — but because of his age and failing health, prosecutors have requested 5 to 10 years. Of course the defense is pushing for house arrest, which prosecutors say isn’t punishment enough. Since he was found guilty, the judge ordered Bill to remain at home until his sentencing. Prosecutors say that back in July, Bill’s wife threw a huge birthday party with a live 5-piece jazz band that jammed until 7am. That’s punishment?

It’s great that Kelly Clarkson is getting her own talk show next year, but RadarOnline.com says that’s coming at the expense of Steve Harvey. Radar’s news editor said, “He’s been axed because the show’s underperforming and, to be honest with you, his guests are pretty poor. The caliber of guests that you would expect on a talk show, leading into something big like Ellen, would be… A-list people — actors, musicians and the like — and he’ been getting people in from reality shows…..”
