Folk rock legend David Crosby was one of the founding members of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. He passed away yesterday at the age of 81. Lisa Marie Presley passed away on Jan. 12 at the age of 54. She has already been laid to rest at Graceland, but the public memorial service is set for 9am this Sunday. The public is invited to attend the ceremony on the front lawn of Graceland. The service will also be live-streamed. Lisa Marie is now buried in Graceland’s Meditation Garden, which is where Elvis, his parents, Gladys and Vernon, and Lisa Marie’s son Benjamin are also buried. Ben passed away by suicide in July 2020 at the age of 27. Ben’s grave was actually moved slightly to make room for his mother to be buried next to him. There’s also a monument in the garden for Elvis’ twin brother, Jessie, who was stillborn.

Certain credit card holders were allowed to buy tickets to Madonna: The Celebration Tour yesterday. Demand was so huge, they’ve already added 13 more dates in some of the North American cities where she’s already performing. So now Madonna will perform 2 nights in the cities of Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Miami, Austin, LA, San Francisco and Las Vegas. She’s now added a third show at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Tickets to the general public go on sale today so even more shows could be added, based on demand. Madonna kicks off the North American leg of her tour July 15 in Vancouver. She begins the European leg on Oct. 14 at The O2 arena in London, which also added a second show.

The Williamson County Animal Center located just outside Nashville posted this announcement on Facebook: “We recently received a generous donation from legendary singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. While all Swifties know Taylor loves cats, we hope she won’t mind that we named our newest adoptable puppies after her songs: ‘Carolina,’ ‘Bejeweled,’ ‘Midnight Rain’ and ‘Willow.’” As of the FB posting, two of the 3 month old black-and-white female mixed-breed puppies — Midnight Rain and Willow — had already been adopted, and I’m sure that Carolina and Bejeweled have their forever homes by now.

On Jan. 13 John Legend performed a private concert and told the crowd that Chrissy Teigen had delivered their baby that morning. Chrissy waited until yesterday to make the official announcement, posting a picture of big sister Luna and big brother Miles holding their new baby sister! She captioned it, “She’s here! Esti Maxine Stephens – the house is bustling and our family could not be happier 💕 Daddy sheds nightly tears of joy seeing Luna and Miles so full of love, and I am learning you still need diapers with a c section!? We are in bliss. Thank you for all the love and well wishes – we feel it all! X.”

Alec Baldwin has been informed he will be charged in the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was shot and killed on the set of the movie “Rust” back in October 2021. The Santa Fe DA also let the movie’s armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed know she’s also being charged. Both Alec and Hannah are facing two counts each of manslaughter, one of the charges includes a firearm enhancement. If they are found guilty, based on which charge the jury chooses, Alec and Hannah face from 18 months to 5 years in prison. Alec’s attorney says the decision to charge his client “represents a terrible miscarriage of justice.” Just a couple months after the shooting, Alec told George Stephanopoulos the assistant director handed him the gun telling him it was “cold,” meaning there was no live ammo in it. He also insisted that he cocked the gun but never pulled the trigger. But the DA says she can prove Alec did pull the trigger. She released a statement saying, “After a thorough review of the evidence and the laws of the state of New Mexico, I have determined that there is sufficient evidence to file criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the ‘Rust’ film crew. On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice.” Alec settled a wrongful death lawsuit with Haylyna’s family back in October, which included giving her widower a producing credit on “Rust.” But Halyna’s widower is thanking the DA for what she’s doing, saying, “We support the charges, will fully cooperate with this prosecution, and fervently hope the justice system works to protect the public and hold accountable those who break the law.” Meantime, that assistant director who gave Alec the gun — Dave Halls — signed a plea agreement for the charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon. Prosecutors say he will likely get six months probation for that. Halls has also agreed to testify for the state.
