Sherri Shepherd wasn’t able to host “The Wendy Williams Show” yesterday because she had an emergency appendectomy on Sunday. Michael Rapaport filled in and will continue to do so until Sherri can come back, which she hopes to do this week! Sherri has been one of the more popular fill-in hosts for Wendy, who is still out for who knows how long recuperating from her health issues. The rumor is that if Wendy’s show is canceled, Sherri will get her own show in that time slot.

Back in March, Cardi B became the first female rapper to achieve Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America when “Bodak Yellow” reached 10M sales in the US. And now Cardi B has hit a new career milestone. She is now the first female rapper with THREE diamond certified singles. In November, she reached 10M with her 2018 Maroon 5 collaboration “Girls Like You,” and now the RIAA has officially certified her song “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin. On Instagram, Cardi said, “My album came out in 2018 and it’s still breaking records… I honestly just can’t believe this is happening!…. I hope I can achieve the same or even better on my next one.”

Tom Cruise is known for several things, being a huge box office draw, doing all of his own stunts, being a Scientologist, and giving people cakes. For about 10 Christmases now, Tom has been gifting friends and cast and crew members his favorite white chocolate coconut bundt cake from Doan’s Bakery in LA. A few years ago, Tom told James Corden that he can’t eat sugar because he’s got to stay in shape for his movies, so he sends these cakes to everyone and then just waits for them to call him and describe how delicious they are. Jimmy Fallon called this bundt cake “unbelievable.” Kirsten Dunst said it’s one of the best cakes she’s ever had. Henry Cavill told Access Hollywood he got one of these cakes for Christmas and thought that, because it was from Tom, it was going to be a healthy and disgusting so he just stuck it in the fridge. But when someone asked him what it was, he said, “Oh, it’s just a cake Tom Cruise sent me,” and they were like, “WHAT??” So Henry finally decided to at least taste it and said it was “the most decadent, the most amazing, the most surprising” thing to receive from Tom Cruise. This year, Tom reportedly flew his private jet loaded with 300 cakes 5500 miles across the Atlantic and back to deliver these cakes to his London-based “Mission: Impossible” film crew. The cakes are $100 each, so that’s $30K worth of cakes, not to mention the cost of his jet and fuel to make this happen!

She may not have seemed like it, but Billie Eilish was scared sick over pulling double duty on “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend, serving as host AND musical guest. Billie said she literally “cried every single day of the week” leading up to hosting. She does have a cough right now, but it’s not COVID. She threw up on the plane on the way to New York and developed extreme digestive issues, if you get what I’m saying.

Who knew that the last time we talked to Dr. Oz, it would be the last time we talked to Dr. Oz!! Even though his daily talk show had already been renewed for Season 14, “The Doctor Oz” show is cutting Season 13 short, wrapping up on Friday, January 14. When Dr. Oz announced he was running for US Senate in Pennsylvania, TV stations there and in the surrounding states dropped the show because of the FCC’s equal-time rule, which means the stations would have to give his opposing candidates equal opportunities for airtime. So now, Dr. Oz’s show is being replaced by his daughter Daphne’s new show, “The Good Dish,” which will focus on family-friendly, nutritious recipes, money-saving tips, trends and how-tos…..the usual. It debuts on Monday, January 17.
