The REAL Cookie Lyons lawsuit… Chrissy Teigen’s close up… VMA performers… Kim and Kanye want free rent… and The Ryan Lochte robbery plot thickens
The woman who claims she’s the REAL Cookie Lyons and that “Empire” ripped off her life story may have her day in court. The show’s creators Lee Daniels and Danny Strong had asked a US District Court in Michigan to toss out Sophia Eggleston’s lawsuit. But the judge tossed out their motion and now the case is one step closer to going to trial. Ms. Eggleston claims that she gave her memoir, The Hidden Hand, to Mr. Daniels, hoping to develop a script herself, but he turned around and stole her story! Ms. Eggleston’s attorney says they hope to win tens of millions of dollars.
On behalf of all women — those with children and without — I would like to thank Chrissy Teigen for snap-chatting a close up of her stretch marks, captioning the photo, “LOL My thighs have tributaries” with a crying face emoji. Chrissy welcomed her baby girl Luna four months ago. But even before she had her baby, Chrissy embraced her stretch marks. Back in April of last year, she posted a similar photo of the stretch marks on her inner thighs with the caption, “Stretchies say hi.” She explained at the time that she loved the filtering apps like Facetune and Photoshop, but she just didn’t feel like doing it anymore.
Nick Jonas was super bummed about not getting a VMA nomination, but that’s not stopping him from putting on his big boy underwear and performing at this year’s show. Nick will do “Bacon” with Ty Doll $ign. Britney Spears is also performing — her first time back since that disastrous sleep-walking performance 9 years ago. More performers will be announced between now and the VMAs, which will be happening Sunday, August 28.
Kim and Kanye are trying to get free rent on a $30 million Manhattan apartment for a few months this fall. Kendall and Kylie Jenner got free villa rental in Turks and Caicos through Airbnb recently. All they had to do was post a lot of pictures of them prancing around in their bikinis, enjoying the property. Kim and Kanye want the same deal in Manhattan. An Airbnb source told Page Six, “The plan would be for Kimye to live there for a few months for free, and Kim will post on social media about the apartment, like her sisters did from Turks and Caicos. Airbnb would pick up the tab for the rent.” Kim and Kanye want to be in Manhattan for New York Fashion Week and would use this apartment as a base for his “Saint Pablo” tour, which kicks off this coming Thursday in Indianapolis.
So four of our Olympic swimmers claim that after they told their cab driver to pull over at a gas station so they could use the bathroom, they were robbed at gunpoint by men posing as police officers. Now a Brazilian police source says what happened was…..a drunk Ryan Lochte and his buddies destroyed a gas station bathroom. An armed security guard demanded they pay for the damage, but never pulled his gun. Meantime, the owner of the gas station told a Brazilian newspaper that the swimmers threw rocks at his business and tore one of its signs before going to the bathroom in the street. He says he has security video showing one of their bare butts as he’s pulling up his pants! CNN says they’ve seen footage of this video but can’t confirm its authenticity.
