TIME 100 is here… Suri Cruise turns 18… Ashanti is pregnant… Kanye ‘punched man in face’…and Tyler Cameron goes off on Gerry Turner

Time magazine has released their annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, aka the Time 100. Among the names you may — or may not — recognize are Dua Lipa, Jack Antonoff, 21 Savage, Fantasia Barrino, Patrick Mahomes, Taraji P. Henson, Kelly Ripa, Kylie Minogue, Elliot Page, Michael J. Fox, Maya Rudolph, Tory Burch, America Ferrera, and Mark Cuban….just to name 14. You can see the remaining 86 during the Time 100 special airing May 12 on ABC, hosted by the aforementioned influential Taraji P. Henson with performances by the influential Dua Lipa and Fantasia Barrino.

Suri Cruise turns 18 today. According to Page Six, Tom Cruise no longer has to cut child support checks totaling $400K a year to Katie Holmes, but according to their divorce settlement, he’s still on the hook for Suri’s college and health care costs. Now that she’s legally an adult, journalist and Scientology expert Tony Ortega told Page Six that Suri is now able to speak freely out about her estranged father and his religious beliefs. Ortega said, “Suri would have been too young to sign any agreement (when her parents divorced in 2012), but she will now be free to talk if she wants to and it’s going to be really interesting if she has something to say.” Suri will most likely choose to remain silent. Until she was 6, Tom was very involved with his youngest daughter’s life3. But in 2012, Katie blindsided him by filing for divorce. Court documents revealed she did it to protect her daughter from Scientology. At that point, Scientologists considered Katie and Suri to be “suppressive persons,” and continuing a relationship with SPs is highly discouraged. So even though Tom was granted visitation rights, it looks like the last time he and Suri spent any time together — at least publicly — was on a trip to Disney World in the summer of 2012.

Ashanti shared some happy news on her Instagram yesterday. As she’s getting ready for a performance, one of her handlers and then her mom ask how long she needs to get ready, and Ashanti says, “I’m gonna need about nine months.” Yes, Ashanti and Nelly are expecting a baby! At 43, this will be Ashanti’s first child. At 49, this will be Nelly’s fifth. Nelly has a 30-year-old daughter and 25-year-old son by an ex-girlfriend, and when his sister died in 2005, he adopted and raised her two children.

Kanye West is being investigated for allegedly punching a man who assaulted his wife Bianca Censori at the Chateau Marmont Tuesday night. When police arrived to investigate, Kanye and Bianca had already left, but they were told Kanye hit the man after he either pushed or grabbed Bianca. But Kanye’s rep told TMZ, “‘Grabbed’ is grossly inadequate as a description of what happened. Bianca was physically assaulted. The assailant didn’t merely collide into her. He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body, he grabbed her waist, he spun her around, and then he blew her kisses. She was battered and sexually assaulted.” Police have yet to hear Kanye’s side of the story and they will be interviewing more witnesses.

What’s the real reason the Golden Bachelor and his bride are divorcing after only 3 months of marriage? The main explanation has been that even though they considered buying a home in SC and moving there together, Gerry wasn’t willing to leave his family in Indiana and Theresa didn’t want to move away from her family in New Jersey. But there’s also speculation brewing that Gerry was a gold digger! He’s been retired quite a while, but Theresa still works as a securities professional. There’s a theory going around that while they were house-hunting, Theresa found out Gerry had misled him about his financial situation and started to think the only reason he picked her was because she still has cash coming in! Whatever the reason, Tyler Cameron is ticked off about the split. He told The Happy Hour that Gerry and Theresa “put a stain on love and Bachelor Nation” because The Golden Bachelor had been the most wholesome experience, and “they just pulled the rug right out from under us!”
