Was Jennifer Lopez Snubbed?

Oscar nominations… Cardi B wants to be a politician… Shaggy passed on working with Rihanna… Queen hosts emergency royal family summit… and Was Jennifer Lopez snubbed?

Oscar nominations were announced this morning. There’s A LOT, so I’ll just list the nominations for Best Picture. They are Ford v. Ferrari, The Irishman, JoJo Rabbit, Joker, Little Women, Marriage Story, 1917, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, and Parasite. Members of the Academy will cast their ballots from Jan. 30 through Feb. 4, and then the Oscars will be handed out on the host-free telecast on Sunday, Feb. 9, on ABC.

Cardi B is really into politics. She’s a Bernie Sanders supporter and even interviewed him last year. Yesterday, Cardi tweeted, “I think I want to be a politician. I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Government.” Cardi added, “I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress. I deada** have sooo much ideas that make sense. I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table.”

Rihanna has been teasing a new album for what seems like forever, and word is, it will be heavily influenced by reggae. In a new interview, Shaggy said Rihanna asked him to be a part of the album, but told him he would have to audition first. Shaggy turned her down flat. Meantime, don’t hold your breath waiting for the album to come out. One of her producers said Rihanna has to narrow down over 500 songs!

Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry are holding an emergency meeting today, with Meghan Markle reportedly calling in from Canada. The Royal Family has been thrown into a tailspin since Harry and Meghan announced last week that they are stepping down as Royals and plan to earn their own money. Meantime, William and Harry issued a joint statement today to dismiss a story in a British tabloid: “Despite clear denials, a false story ran in a UK newspaper today speculating about the relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge. For brothers who care so deeply about the issues surrounding mental health, the use of inflammatory language in this way is offensive and potentially harmful.”

We’re weeks away from the Super Bowl and the highly anticipated halftime show featuring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. A source told Love B. Scott that things are nowhere near ready, and it’s causing some tension between the ladies. Apparently, they’re having trouble fitting their sets into the time constraints, and “to make matters worse, both Jennifer and Shakira aren’t exactly ‘cozy.’ There were initial plans for them to perform a significant portion of the halftime show together, but that’s out the window. As of now, they’re just planning to appear briefly together at the end of the set.” The source says there isn’t any real feud but there’s definitely a chill in the air. At first, Jennifer was the only halftime performer, but the NFL and Pepsi decided to add Shakira.
