Yesterday, Apple announced their first ever Apple Music Awards. They have five categories. Album of the Year and Song of the Year are based on streaming data and what customers have been listening to (on repeat) this year. Global Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Breakthrough Artist of the Year were selected by their editorial team of experts and tastemakers. Got all that? So the winner of Apple Music’s first ever Artist of the Year award goes to Billie Eilish, who also wins Album of the Year for “When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” and Songwriter of the Year, a title she shares with her brother Finneas. Song of the Year is “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X. And finally, Lizzo won for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
Behold the Apple Music Award: Built from the same laser-cut silicon wafers that power Apple’s microprocessors, it’s a unique token of appreciation for the artists whose work upended convention and dominated the conversation all year. #AppleMusicAwards2019https://t.co/9OZK3rOkcS pic.twitter.com/qQ2bwq0r1z

The fallout from Gabrielle Union’s firing from “America’s Got Talent” continues. SAG-AFTRA has launched an investigation into Gabrielle’s claims of a toxic work environment, which included being told her hairstyles were “too black.” Gabrielle does plan to meet with NBC representatives in person. A source told Deadline, “Gabrielle believes there is a toxicity that has become normalized at Talent. She wants to help fix that, because she loved a lot of her time on the show last season, even with the issues with Simon and what have you.” But the source says that even if NBC begs her to come back, the answer is NO.

Um….where are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? They were supposed to be in the US spending Thanksgiving with Meghan’s mom in LA, but nobody’s seen hide nor hair of them! Were they there? Are they still here?? I’ll keep checking the internets for signs of them. Meantime, Meghan and Harry are in the middle of their six-week break from all their Royal duties, and that includes celebrating Christmas with his family! Tradition has the Royal family walking together to church on Christmas morning, but Harry reportedly told the Queen that he and Meghan won’t be making that trek this year.
