Big Al’s Blog: Going to the Fair!
Big Al’s Blog: Going to the Fair!

I almost, kinda, thought about working out yesterday…but I came to my senses. That would have been good though! The employees at the bar did a great job over the weekend so I wrote them a nice email to tell them thanks and I am taking all of them to the State Fair today. I’m going to close the bar down for a few hours and load them all onto my bus and I’m going to drive them myself. It will be a cool company bonding thing where we can all eat horrible fried everything and maybe ride a few rides and just hang out. Honestly, I should take some money and set it aside and do more of this sorta thing. I will have to admit that I have learned it from Kidd. He has gone over and beyond with all of us here at Kidd Kraddick in the Morning so I have to give credit where credit is due…learned it directly from my boss and I’m trying to follow in his footsteps. He took us all to Vegas a year or so ago and even gave us all a little spending money. And we have had multiple outings where he has picked up the tab…so why not take a few dollars and do something nice for some folks that work for me right?
When you wake up at 3:30 in the morning Monday through Friday, there’s not going to be a whole lot of going out during the week but every once in a while, I break the routine and I do. Last night was one of those nights. I got a call from my doctor friend and she may not work as early as me, but she works a lot of hours as well. So, I decided to take her up on her offer and meet her for a drink. Man, she actually put a little effort into getting dressed. I, on the other hand, looked like a guy that should have been holding up a sign on the service road of the freeway. But it was all good. We made a stop at my usual restaurant of choice and had a drink there. Then we went to my bar and hung out for a minute. Then we went to a late night pizza place and ended the night there. Wow, not a good start to the week. Especially if you are a doctor, right? But we made it through. And she even told me that she couldn’t see herself coming to my place late at night because her ex-boyfriend lives in my building. I told her I would move if I had to. We’ll see what happens there. I can kind of understand where she’s coming from. I wouldn’t want to date someone that lived in my ex girlfriend’s apartment building either. That would just be awkward if we had to spend that 20 seconds in the elevator together when there is no place to really look but straight ahead or up in the air. I’ll keep you posted on any new developments there.
