Big Al’s Blog: R.I.P. George Jefferson

George Jefferson is dead. I watched this guy as a kid and the mention of his name brings back so many memories. It’s been so long ago, but my family would be huddled around the TV and we would laugh and laugh at this man and his family’s antics. Rest in Peace Sherman Hemsley.

We are just a few days away from leaving for London. I called American Airlines yesterday to see what it would cost to upgrade to business Class on the flights. Wow, how things change. I called 2 weeks ago, and the cost was $1500. I thought that was pretty pricey so I didn’t do it. Then yesterday, I finally decided to go ahead and bite the bullet. Well, now that the date is here, the price has gone up a little. Now it’s a cool $9,000 for a business class seat. $9,000!!! WOW…guess who will be sitting in coach. This guy right here..but if that’s the biggest problem I have, I guess I have a pretty good life. I want to see the Palace. I want to check out that London Eye, the huge Ferris wheel.

The one thing that I love doing is meeting people, so I’m really looking forward to meeting the British people and finding out about the British culture. I know NOTHING about England, but the excitement is really starting to build and I’m ready to go…I just wish I could go in business class. It’s funny how older folks are so grateful for the simple things.

My mom called me yesterday, and was upset because she couldn’t log in to her email. So as soon as I got off work, I rushed straight over there to see what the problem was. Sure enough, I couldn’t get her logged on either. Somehow, she must have accidentally changed her password or something. Who knows? But I changed her password and 10 minutes later she was a happy camper. She gave me a big hug and I was on my way. When I ask on Facebook, “who wants to go to Mexico?” don’t reply “I do” if your profile pic is of you and your husband.
