So you probably remember that a few weeks ago, I took my mom to Playa del Carmen for Memorial day weekend. I was soo excited to be able to take her there because for soo many years, she had been so afraid of Mexico. She was afraid to go and she was afraid every time I went. And for that reason, I was hoping more than anything that this trip could put her at ease. But at the same time, I was also hoping that she would have a REALLY good time. Since a majority of the time that I’m in Mexico, I have a beer in my right hand and tequila in my left hand, I didn’t know if this would be a fun place for her since she doesn’t drink at all. And she was even too scared to get in the ocean. So, the big question I had on the way home was, did she have a good time. Sure, she told me that she did, but did she really? Well, yesterday when I was visiting her, she casually said, “Guess what I just did?” I said, “ok, what?” she said, “I just renewed my passport so that I will be ready for the next time we go to Mexico.” Man, that’s all I needed to hear! Heck yes, she had a great time in Mexico! She went from being afraid to go, to wanting to go back. Thanks mom, that made my day. And heck yes, we’re going back. SOON!
