Big Al’s Blog: Who steals the wheel off a charity car?

My Saturday nights usually contain Karaoke and I really need to add a couple more songs to my Karaoke catalogue. I guess if that is one of my biggest problems, then my problems are fairly insignificant but this is on my mind.

Speaking of stuff that happens at the bar, we have a car in my bar. And its there for a reason. A while back, I met this guy that does marketing for Fiat. This goes to show how “you never know until you ask.” In years past, when its time for Kidd’s Kids fundraising, I have donated a day’s sales to the charity. This time I wanted to do something a little different. I asked the FIAT rep if how to go about getting a car donated for the charity for a fund raising raffle. He did some checking and he got back with me a few days later. He did it! He got us a car for free. So we had a few meetings to work out the details and now, we have a car to donate. Raffle tickets are going to be $20 and 100% of the money goes to Kidd’s Kids. The whole reason I brought this up was not 24 hours after we drove the car into the bar, someone stole a hubcap off of it. It was a customer that came in for a meal or drinks and decided that it would be a good idea to steal the wheel cover off of a car that’s being given away for sick kids to go to Disney World. I’m pretty sure the guy that did this won’t be reading my blog but dude, if you are, you are an ASS!

The rest of my weekend contained my usual list of 20 things to do, of which, I may have actually accomplished about 5 of them.

I actually stayed in the bed until 9am on Sunday morning. And for those of you that don’t know, that’s pretty major for me. My brain just won’t let the rest of my body stay in bed later than that. Usually by 7:30 or 8, I’m texting people to see if anyone wants to go to church or brunch or something. Speaking of brunch, I went alone as usual and had the Red Velvet pancakes again. They are a little piece of heaven.

I really didn’t realize how freaking boring my weekend was until I started writing about it in this blog. I talk to people all the time that have fun stuff to do and I kind of envy them. I was talking to one guy and he was telling me that he was on his way to be the announcer at a high school football game. Another dude was telling me he was on his was to do some Bow and Arrow hunting. I’m not really a hunter but it sounds cool. I just wake up, run errands, and go to the bar. Rinse lather repeat. I need some excitement.

I did see a little bit of our own J-Si on TV last night. Wow. It was a pretty emotional show. I almost felt like I was getting too much of a peek into J-Si’s personal life. But it did make me appreciate how lucky I am to have grown up the way that I did and not to have ever had any family drama like that. But it was nice to see that everything has pretty much worked out with them and they are loving each other again! Way to go J-Si!
