J-Si’s Blog: Cason can be a world traveler now!

I still don’t understand why a baby needs a passport, but they do. So how tough is it to get a 9 month old to sit still and take a picture at a Walgreens? Very tough… the severity of solving this problem rivals the intricacies neuroscience. Yeah, that tough! We did manage to finally get Cason to sit still and ended up taking a picture of him that looks like a beautiful mugshot. We laughed about it all day. From the moment they handed us the picture, to the moment we turned it in to have it put on his passport. The smirk, the lighting… it’s all perfect! Here’s a fun fact: Cason will get to use this passport until he is 5 years old! ha! So the guy who looks nothing like what he looked like 7 months ago is supposed to look like what he looks like today in 5 years? It confuses me, but if I don’t have to put up with it for another 5 years, that’s cool with me!

Now, the “awww” moment of the day! My sister is all up on the Instagram game now. So when I checked it before going to be, I saw that she had posted a picture of me. It was actually the “most awkward picture of my vacation” from when Kinsey and I went back home during the summer, but the caption is what was really awesome. She wrote: “this guy, we may have gotten into a really bad situation before and we may not see each other or talk as much, but no matter what, he’s my only sibling, big brother, my protector and I love him.” She ended that with a heart, but I don’t know how to make those on the computer. I think it’s a girl thing. That made my night right there. I have not had anything like that from her since she used to make me little cards when she was about 6 years old. Definitely a great thing to see before going off to bed… that, and “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”. Yeah, good times!
