J-Si’s Blog: Cason’s first sick day

Well, it was bound to happen. Kinsey and I were lucky enough to go almost 8 months without a sick baby… that ended yesterday. There were a couple times that he spit up his food, or he coughed once, or we thought he had a fever. Every time, the doctor told us he was fine. Yesterday, Kinsey started the day off with feeding Cason, and he projectile vomited all over our bed. His body was also doing things that his diaper could not control, so that got pretty messy… about 3 times. It was one of those moments that made me so happy to have a partner because there is no way we could have controlled that by ourselves. Single parents are amazing. While Kinsey cleaned the floor, I gave him a bath… on the way to his first bath he got me, he got me good. So I lost a shirt. While she cleaned the couch, the bed, and his rug… I changed his clothes. Yes, we called the doctor and we were told that it sounds as if he has a bit of a stomach bug. We gave him Pedialyte and and made sure he was hydrated. By around 6 o’clock we stopped having accidents, but it was a stressful day. We are not out of the woods thought, we still have to make sure he doesn’t develop a fever. It was bound to happen, and you definitely can’t control how helpless you feel. Luckily, he handled it like a champ because he was still being himself by smiling, laughing, and spilling my drinks by grabbing them as I tried to bring them up to my mouth.

Also, my mother in law is in town… and she is a ton of help! So I went on Facebook last night before I went to bed and saw a picture that Kinsey posted of them. They went to a country bar to go line dancing. I stayed back with Cason… and because I don’t two step. That’s when I noticed that Big Al Mack must have been lonely last night because he decided to holler on the picture by saying: “tell your hot mom I say hi”. Trollin on Facebook to hook it up with my mother in law? C’mon man! haha!

And for those asking about Kinsey’s lil business venture, she’s getting there. She got her website, and is working on making it look “pretty”. Once we get some more product and finish it up, it will be up and running 🙂 She’s excited, and seems really happy working on it. I am actually pretty proud of her. She is not just sitting around and laying in bed playing with Cason all day. Once I get home, she is working and researching, and telling me to be quiet… and helping me clean poo off the floor. Good times.
