When Season 5 of Love is Blind premiered back in September, you probably don’t remember Tran and Thomas or Renee and Carter. These are two couple who got engaged in the pods, but their stories were edited out of the show. After the show wrapped in October, Tran hit production companies Kinetic Content and Delirium TV with a lawsuit for sexual assault, false imprisonment and negligence. Tran claims that when producers sent the newly engaged couples to Mexico, Michael kept groping her and exposing himself to her without her consent. But rather than protect her, Tran claims producers downplayed it, saying there was a communication problem between the couple and suggested she just wasn’t physically attracted to her fiancé. Also in October, Renee spoke to PopSugar about her relationship with Carter being edited out of the show. After the trip to Mexico, Renee said reality hit when she and Carter returned to their home base in Houston. All those red flags she’d been ignoring became too overwhelming, and Renee ended up saying no to Carter on their wedding day. However, Renee told PopSugar that she was shocked that their story was cut completely from the show. She said she had gotten a call about a month before the show aired telling her their story wasn’t going to be a big focus. She said, “What I was told was, ‘We’ll just, point blank, say that Carter was awful and we don’t want you to have to relive that…’ They also said timing was an issue, so they decided to cut our story.” But Renee told PopSugar that she believed they were cut for a different reason, but she would reveal all that eventually. Well, eventually is NOW.

After Renee spilled her guts to PopSugar, Delirium TV sued her for $4M, saying she broke the NDA she’d signed. Variety reports that Renee has now hired Hollywood power attorneys Bryan Freedman and Mark Geragos to sue Delirium TV and Netflix. Not only does she want to nullify her contract, Renee is also suing for intentional infliction of emotional distress plus violations of California labor codes and civic codes. In her filing, Renee says that despite a grueling interview and vetting process, Carter made it on the show broke, jobless and homeless. Not only that, Renee claims Carter was addicted to amphetamines and alcohol, and despite the fact that he was abusive to her both on and off camera, producers forced her to spend long periods of time alone with this man. By the way, except for dealing with these lawsuits, Renee’s story does have a happy ending. This past March, Renee did get married to a man whose name she’s withholding to protect his privacy.

Citing lack of cooperation from the alleged victim, prosecutors have decided to drop 3 felony charges against Jackson Mahomes. A fourth charge of misdemeanor battery is still in place, but Jackson has pleaded not guilty to that. In response to the prosecutors’ decision, Jackson’s attorney released a statement saying his client “has done nothing wrong,” adding “We had full confidence that the truth of the matter would ultimately be revealed.” Back in February 2023, Patrick Mahomes’ baby brother was accused of forcing himself on the owner of Aspen’s Restaurant and Lounge. Investigators said Jackson was in an office with restaurant owner Aspen Vaughn when a waiter tried to enter the room. Jackson reportedly shoved the waiter out and then grabbed Ms. Vaughn by the throat and then forcefully kissed her three different times without her consent. There is video backing this up. But this week, prosecutors presented with an affidavit from Ms. Vaughn’s attorneys stating that she refuses to testify in the case.

The Golden Globes has added a new category to this year’s ceremony — Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. Taylor Swift is nominated for her movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, and she will be there for the ceremony on Sunday! Even though her boyfriend Travis Kelce will also be in LA that day, he will not be on the red carpet with her. The Kansas City Chiefs are playing the Chargers at SoFi Stadium Sunday afternoon, and believe it or not, Coach Andy Reid won’t let Travis miss the game to go hang out with celebrities. Taylor has some stiff competition in this category. Also nominated are Barbie, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and John Wick: Chapter 4.

Way back in 2016, Britney Spears released her last studio album, Glory. She did have a couple of recent collaborations — Hold Me Closer with Elton John and Mind Your Business with Will.I.Am. But after dipping her toe in the water, The Sun reported that Britney got the itch to put out her 10th studio album, and she enlisted some big songwriting artists like Julia Michaels and Charli XCX to help her write the music. Unfortunately, according to The Sun, those plans were put on hold when Britney broke up with Sam Asghari and she got sidetracked with her memoir. Britney would like to clear a few things up about this story. In an Instagram post, Britney said, “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash!!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry!!! When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people!!! For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me… I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years!!! I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way!!! People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth … have you read the news these days??? I’m so LOVED and blessed!!!”

While you were sleeping, documents related to a 2015 lawsuit filed against Ghislaine Maxwell by one of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims were unsealed, revealing the names of dozens of well-known figures linked to Epstein. More names will roll out over the next several days. It is important to read articles related to these stories and not just the headlines. According to the Daily Mail, many of the more famous names were seeing in those headlines were simply mentioned in passing during depositions and were never accused of doing anything illegal. For instance, one of Epstein’s alleged victims told lawyers that she knew Epstein “had dealings with Bill Clinton,” (but) “I didn’t know they were friends until I read the Vanity Fair article about them going to Africa together.” When she was asked if Epstein every talked about the former president, the woman said, “He said one time that Clinton likes them young, referring to girls.” In another deposition, one of Epstein’s accusers said David Copperfield was a guest at one of Epstein’s infamous dinner parties. She said David did magic tricks before asking her if she was aware “that girls were getting paid to find other girls.”
