Director Matthew Vaughn had visions of creating a franchise, but based on first weekend box office results, critics’ reviews and negative word of mouth, he might want to come up with a new vision. Argylle opened to an estimated $18M this weekend, which was enough for a first place finish. Globally, the movie earned a little over $35M, but it has a long way to go before it makes back the estimated $200M it cost to produce. Coming in second was The Chosen: Season 4, Episodes 1-3 with $7.5M. Episodes 4-6 of the hit streaming series will be released in theaters later this month. The Beekeeper finished in third with $5.3M.

It must be hard for Patrick Mahomes to stay focused on football when he has to deal with family drama like this. Patrick’s father — Patrick Sr. — was arrested for drunk driving AGAIN. This would reportedly be his sixth drunk driving arrest. Dad was booked in Tyler, Texas, Saturday night and released on $10K bond. Will Patrick Sr. show up for Jr.’s Super Bowl game in Vegas this Sunday?

For the second time in his career, Steph Curry scored 60 points against the Hawks Saturday night. But it wasn’t enough. His Warriors lost in overtime, 141-134. By the way, Steph is only the 10th player in NBA history to score 60 points at least twice. Afterward, Steph walked over to Lindsay Lohan and her husband who were sitting courtside. Steph gave Lindsay his jersey, which his signed, “To Luai, Your godparents love you! Warriors!!” WHO KNEW that Steph and Ayesha Curry are godparents to Lindsay’s son, who will turn 1 this summer. Apparently, Lindsay and Ayesha grew very close while filming the Netflix movie Irish Wish, which starts streaming on March 15.

The Scam Goddess podcast is dedicated to fraud and to all those who practice it. Back in 2020, a then-24-year-old Ayo Edebiri was a guest on this podcast, and had a lot to say about Jennifer Lopez. Ayo said, among other things, “Her whole career is one long scam. She thinks, like, she’s still good, even though she’s not singing for most of these songs.” Fast forward to February 3, 2024, and Ayo is hosting Saturday Night Live with special musical guest Jennifer Lopez. We don’t know if Ayo addressed this backstage with JLo, but when she played a contestant in a skit called Why’d You Say It?, Ayo blurted out, “It’s wrong to leave mean comments, or post comments just for clout, or run your mouth on a podcast and you don’t consider the impact because you’re 24 and stupid!”

Miley Cyrus went into the night with zero Grammys, and waltzed out of there with two! Miley won Best Pop Vocal Performance and Record of the Year for Flowers, which she performed with pure JOY on the telecast. In her second acceptance speech of the night, Miley glaringly left out thanking her dad Billy Ray Cyrus, adding fuel to the rumors of a family rift. When Jay-Z accepted the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, he used his time to call out the hypocrisy of the voting Academy. He said that his wife Beyonce “has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year, so even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work.” Beyonce has accumulated 88 nominations with 32 wins, but like Jay-Z said, never for Album of the Year. However, Taylor Swift became the first artist to win that award for the fourth time last night when she accepted the Album of the Year Grammy for Midnights. Earlier in the night, Taylor won her 13th Grammy for Pop Vocal Album, and used the opportunity to announce a surprise album that she’s kept a secret for two years. The Tortured Poets Department drops April 19, which happens to be Poetry and the Creative Mind Day.
