J-Si’s Blog: Who’s Got Your Back

When something crazy happens in your life, it is amazing to see how many people send love your way. All of our friends sent us text messages, and called us… even bio dad and family called me! You also realize who doesn’t have your back, but that is something that is good to know for future reference, right? That is something we should not spend much time thinking about. Our number one goal yesterday was to get the ball rolling. Where are we getting it rolling to? I dont know, but once it rolls, we will follow that ball.

Well, our landlord did contact us yesterday, but I am pretty sure it’s because I talked about it on the show and her real estate agent heard it. Kinsey was telling me that it sounded as if she didn’t think it was a big deal… boy did that change she went to the house with her lawyer. Her attitude was more on the “if there is anything I can do to help you guys, let me know” side after she saw it in person. I don’t know if it’s because she realized that it could have been way worse if that thing would have injured us, or what, but at least the ball is rolling. The house still has no power, the attic is still exposed, but the good news is that our things did not get damaged at all. The house was the only thing to suffer any damage, but from what I am understanding, this may take a while.

I naturally started looking for a new house yesterday, and actually found one in the same neighborhood, that was actually renovated, had an extra bedroom, and an extra bathroom… and it cost the same amount to rent as the one we live in now. Thus proving that I am definitely getting ripped off in the rent department. On the drive to Kinsey’s sister’s house after work, the house was rented out. It was that fast. Dang it!

So what’s on our plate today? Gotta meet the insurance company at the house with the landlord, and we are also gonna go stay somewhere else because we feel really bad staying at her sister’s house. If it were just the two of us, we may feel differently, but we have the baby, and two very annoying dogs. At least we will get a lil timetable from the insurance company today… but we will still be looking for a new house to move into, but as of now, we are gonna use up the month of rent we already paid for… even though we are not staying in the house. We will just call it a very expensive storage unit. We also have to figure out where we are going to stay for the next two weeks because bio sis is coming to town next week.
