Big Al’s Blog: One Out of Two Ain’t Too Bad

I left work yesterday with two things on my mind. Buy a Birthday card for my mom and introducing her to lunch at my favorite restaurant. Well, one out of two ain’t too bad I guess. I did get her a card. But she called me before I could make it over there and she was telling me she was having a hard time watering her new flower beds that I had got for her. My grandmother LOVED flowers and my mom does too. So I had 3 huge flower beds put in my moms yard in the last 2 weeks or so. But the problem is watering them. So, the guy that put the flowers in put this timing thing on the water and so she cant just go out and water them if the are wilting. So, I asked her if she would like me to get her some stuff to take care of this for her birthday. She was so excited. so, off I went to home depot to get my mom some gardening stuff for her birthday. I got her this 100’ water hose, one of those watering wands and a few other things to make the watering easy for her. I know a water hose may not sound like the best birthday present in the world but that’s what she wanted and needed so that’s what she got. I made it over to her house and I hooked all of it up and spent the next hour watering the flowers. About halfway through, she noticed I was there and she came out and we talked. That pretty much made it a great afternoon.

At about 5 or 6p, I thought I’d change it up and get a pizza. No salmon for me. so I went and got a large pepperoni/sausage pizza and took it home for me to enjoy. The pizza box was even too big for me to put on my fridge. So I ate a couple slices and decided to make it an early night. I would take me a bubble bath and hit the bed. I turned on my water in the tub and poured in my Mr. Bubble. Then, I got me another slice of pizza and sat on my couch. I guess I was a little sleepier than I thought. I woke up 3 hours later. I noticed a noise coming from my bathroom. It was the water. I looked at the clock. It was 10:30. My water had been running for 3 HOURS! I ran into the bathroom and there was ONLY about a half inch of water covering the floor! I could take my bubble bath without getting in the tub!
