Fanatics Super Bowl party… Monica Aldama’s son was arrested… Justin Timberlake new single “Selfish”… Kim Kardashian brand ambassador for Balenciaga… and The 2024 Oscar nominations

Listen to “Showbiz – Jan 23, 2024” on Spreaker.

It’s arguably the biggest party leading up to the Super Bowl. One insider told Page Six that tens of thousands of people are trying to get in, but only 800 will make it. This source said one person offered $500K for a table, only to be told, “You’re money is no good here!” What party has everyone so worked up? It’s Michael Rubin’s Fanatics party, and you have to be invited to get in. Page Six found out that this year’s event will be held at Marquee at the Cosmopolitan. As of now, Travis Scott, the Chainsmokers, lce Spice, A$AP Ferg, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Fabolous, Ludacris, Ne-Yo and The Kid LAROI reportedly are all set to perform. But based on parties past, it’s possible that some mega-stars will jump on stage in the heat of the moment. Their source said, “A full musical festival is expected to break out, like a mini-Coachella.”

Back in 2020 Netflix aired the docuseries Cheer, which followed all the drama of Navarro College’s competitive cheer squad as they prepared for the national cheerleading championship in Daytona. We immediately fell in love with the cheerleaders and their fierce leader, Coach Monica Aldama. But since then, it’s been one scandal after another. Fan favorite Jerry Harris is currently serving 12 years for crimes including soliciting minors online. And now we’ve found out that Monica’s 27-year-old son Austin has been charged with 10 counts of child pornography. He was arrested last Thursday and after posing for his mugshot, he was released on a personal recognizance bond. Among the stipulations, Austin is required to submit to random drug testing and voluntary searches of his phone and computer. He’s also not allowed to view any type of porn.

Justin Timberlake went back to his hometown of Memphis to host a listening party for his new music. His *NSYNC buddy Chris Kirkpatrick showed his support from his seat inside the Orpheum Theatre. Justin debuted an uptempo song called Angels, which he really got into. He also played a new song called Selfish which will be released on Thursday. Right after the listening party, Justin posted some of the highlights on social media along with a first look at what seems to be a visual album called Everything I Thought It Was, featuring a voiceover from Benicio Del Toro. Justin will be the musical guest on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, which will be hosted by Dakota Johnson.

Prior to accusations of promoting child pornography through their 2022 ad campaigns, Kim Kardashian rocked a lot of Balenciaga on the red carpet. Kim said she was “disgusted and outraged” by what she saw, adding that she would be re-evaluating her relationship with the brand. After her re-evaluation, Kim has now been named Balenciaga’s brand ambassador. In making the announcement, Kim said, “For me, this long-standing relationship is built on mutual trust and a commitment to doing what’s right. I’m excited about this next chapter for the brand and to become their ambassador.” Kim is getting blasted on social media, being called a “sellout” and a “Babylon whore,” among other things.
