William & Kate Seek $1.5 Mil Over Topless Photos

The Eagles are suing… Alicia Keys won’t be back for “The Voice”… Luis Miguel surrendered… Zayn Malik getting blasted… and William and Kate seek $1.5 mil over topless photos

The Eagles are suing the Hotel California in Mexico, claiming the owner used the name of their song without their permission and “actively encourage” guests to believe that the hotel inspired their lyrics. When the hotel first opened in 1950 — way before the Eagles released their song in 1976 — it was called Hotel California. It went through a number of name changes since then and was called the Todos Santos Hotel when a Canadian couple bought the place in 2001. But they saw a marketing opportunity and started using the rumor that The Eagles were inspired by their hotel to their advantage. The Eagles seemed to turn a blind eye to all this until the couple formed Hotel California LLC and applied for a patent to register the Hotel California name. Don Henley has said in interviews that “Hotel California” is about “a journey from innocence to experience. It’s not really about California. It’s about America.”

Alicia Keys has announced that she won’t be back for “The Voice” next season alongside Miley Cyrus, so maybe that means Gwen Stefani will get to stick around now because Miley is supposedly replacing her. Alicia told Entertainment Tonight that she is about halfway through some new music to follow up her 2016 album.

Luis Miguel surrendered to US marshals yesterday in a case involving an ongoing dispute with his former manager, who claims Luis owes him more than a million dollars. Luis was in contempt of court for failing to appear at previous court hearings. In January, a judge ordered Luis to turn over a 2013 Rolls Royce to help satisfy the judgment.

Zayn Malik thought he was doing a good thing for his mom’s best friend. Ayesha Daniels is battling lung cancer and set up a GoFundMe page to raise the $155K needed for treatment. So Ayesha asked her best friend’s famous son to do her a favor and tweet the link to his 21.7 million followers. Of course, he did it. He wrote, “This is my Mums best friend Please help in any way possible” with the praying hands emoji. But now Zayn is getting dragged by people saying things like, “You’re the one with millions! YOU help!” and “You’re a millionaire. You wear $2,000.00 shoes. Give her some money.” But Ayesha is defending Zayn, who she refers to as her “nephew,” aging she would never, ever ask him for financial help in any way.

Remember about five years ago when Prince William and Catherine were vacationing in the South of France and paparazzi took pictures of William rubbing sunscreen onto the back of the topless future Queen of England? No? Well, they haven’t forgotten about it. And now the Royal Couple is seeking more than $1.5 million in damages from the six people associated with taking the photos and then publishing them in “Closer” magazine. Their attorney read a statement from Prince William in court yesterday that said, “In September 2012, my wife and I thought that we could go to France for a few days in a secluded villa owned by a member of my family, and thus enjoy our privacy…The clandestine way in which these photographs were taken was particularly shocking to us as it breached our privacy.” This trial will take a while. The verdict isn’t expected to be announced until July 4.
